About Takumi® Takumi is the Japanese word for “artisan” and represents Clover’s pursuit of quality through natural materials and precision technology. The finest bamboo is carefully selected from forests in cold regions, harvested at 4–5 years for optimal strength. The shafts are uniformly machined for comfort, producing precision tips that allow stitches to glide smoothly. Clover began when Toshio Okada, aged 14, worked for a needle wholesaler. Using a clover leaf as a bookmark inspired the name. In 1925 he opened his own needle shop, later expanding into manufacturing.
