High Impact acrylic discs are seven times more impact resistant than standard acrylic and up to seventy times stronger than standard plate glass. Key Features: Lightweight and easy to work with 7 times impact resistance of normal acrylic 70 times impact resistance of glass Optically clear Easy to machine Supplied with protective film on both sides Impact Modified acrylic sheets have elastomers added to the resin before the sheets are extruded on a production line. This results in a terrifically impact resistant material with only slightly reduced scratch resistance and light admittance. Varying degrees of impact modification are achievable, with 45% being the most commonly used. These special purpose acrylic discs are ideal for providing protective secondary glazing for windows which are susceptible to damage.
